Do I really Need a Website?

Great question! The web is the primary communication, sales, entertainment, and social channel in our rapidly changing world. Your business needs an internet presence to really make it in this evolving web environment. A website works for you by being available for your clients 24/7.

You will help us design a website that is specific to your needs. If you want a simple website that is what you will get … without compromising on beauty or functionality. We will update you throughout the design process to ensure the site stays to the original vision.

What if I want to sell products off my website can I do that too one day?

When we first analyse your needs you can help us understand the specific long-term goals of your business and your website. Snowmango will build a strong enough infrastructure to allow us the ability to expand the site when you are ready.

Yes we can do e-commerce sites!

I am confused about what I need? DO I need a domain and a host site? What is best?

Think of the analogy between a house and a city. The domain is your address or your house but the infrastructure that let’s you have water and electricity is managed and maintained by the city or host. Unless you are planning to develop a ‘city’ of websites and a software platform you likely don’t need to buy a host. A domain is enough for 95 % of our clients. That being said IF you do need to develop a host site we can also accommodate that.

Does my Snowmango quote include a domain and do I have to pay every year? month?

The yearly price of a domain ranges from $9 + with a reputable host.

We recommend a security package (approximately $8+) as well that will make sure your site is not prone to crash because of random viruses, spam and hackers.

We can set up your account so that Snowmango handles the yearly domain charges and bills you accordingly or we can set it up so that you are given an Alert a month before you need to renew your domain and you handle the payments.

Does the price of the domain include emails? and how many?

Normally you can have unlimited email addresses. We usually advise that you will need addresses for key staff as well as an info@ or contact@yourdomain. That is all included in your quote.

Can I see the mail on the net? is it possible to use Outlook?

You can access your email virtually or through Outlook or Gmail or most common mail servers. When we have our meeting with you to confirm our working arrangement we will get all that information from you and set that up for you however you would like to receive your emails.

What if I have questions or concerns during the design and building process for my website?

A team member of Snowmango is accessible to our clients during regular working hours and we encourage our clients to keep in touch with all concerns and questions. Please contact us with any updates, concerns, or questions at any stage of our working together. We love to hear from you.

I want to learn how to blog. Can you set that up and teach me how?

We sure can. We have set up lots of blogs over the years and if that is what you have a hankering to do we can accommodate.

Do I have restrictions with the amount of content I can put on my site or the number of pages?

You can make your site as big as you want or as simple and small as you want. You are in charge and we do our job to the specifications you have requested. Anything is possible.

Can I include videos in my website?

Absolutely. We do video and editing so you can supply the video or we can do the filming and editing for you. For some companies this is a great way to show off  certain aspects of the business.

Do you take the pictures and write the content?

At our first planning meeting we can decide who will supply what for the website. We often do the photography and the writing so if you need that we can supply it.

How long will it take to build my site?

If you have a timeline that is critical (like a store opening or a new product launch) we will set our timelines to that date so that everyone knows what to expect AND when!

How about updates to my site? Is it included in the price?

We offer a number of options for clients.

IF you really want to use your website as a portal to your business then it is best to keep the website fresh and updated. You water your flowers so they don’t wilt, right? So do the same with this valuable window into your world. Your website needs care and attention. You can decide whether you want us to do that or whether you will do that. You are always in charge.

We recommend quarterly updates at a minimum to keep your viewers coming back to see what is new.

HOW much do updates cost?

It depends on what you need! If it is simple text and a few pictures to update every few months it will have a different cost than if you have major, time-intensive updates every few weeks. Those costs can be discussed and agreed upon once we finish your site and you have determined how you want the site to work for you.

Can I include updates from my facebook and twitter in the page?

We can design the website to accommodate any and all of your needs. We will link your existing social media to your site or set up your social media if you need it.

If I have my fanpage in facebook, can I add the counter and "like" button directly in my page?

Absolutely. We regularly add Fanpages and Like buttons to websites.

This is a great way for you to add more power to your website and also to add updates without uploading anything to your site. Write your updates on your social media and it instantly gets connected to your website.

Can you help me with the facebook and twitter updates?

Yes. We have clients who ask us to set up their accounts and also do the updates. Alternatively we can set up the accounts and teach you how to update all this yourself.

Do I have to have social networks on my website?

This is a common question. Many businesses think that they need to be on a myriad of social networks. We believe that the Social network is only valuable if it serves your business or personal goal. We will discuss these needs with you at the Snowmango no-obligation first meeting to determine your needs for a website.

Do I have to monitor my website?

Again that is your call. Most website owners are actively watching their own site and advise us if there are problems. We do have an emergency email address for situations where you need immediate help or have concerns at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

HOW do I know if anyone is seeing my site? IS there a way to track that information?

A web site allows you to track the number of visits and where they came from, for example, an online advertisement or search engine. It can record the number of enquiries or online sales in the case of an e-commerce site, thus producing a ratio of enquiries to visitors which gives the conversion rate. With this information you can take steps to improve this ratio and increase sales.
